Pricing

You don't need a subscription to order on Smuggl, and there's no sign-up fee or hidden charge. Each order is priced on its own, and the app shows the full amount before you pay. It's made up of:
- the item cost, which is the airport shop's price converted to your currency
- your Smugglbear's service fee for shopping and carrying your items
- Smuggl's platform fee, including any applicable taxes
- an optional price buffer in case the shop's price goes up a little; anything unused is refunded
- a customs amount, only if your items are over the duty-free allowance. It's used only if duty is actually paid, and the rest is refunded.
Smugglbear service fee: from ₹500 per order. Smuggl platform fee: from ₹300.
On orders delivered in India there is also GST: 5% on the Smugglbear service fee and 18% on the platform fee. Smuggl Technologies pays it to the Indian government, and your Smugglbear still gets their full fee. Orders delivered outside India have no GST.
Both fees depend on the items and on how much you save compared with buying them locally, so you usually save more than you pay us. If any other charge applies to your order, you'll see it at checkout before you pay, and you never pay more than the amount you approve.
Captain membership (optional)
Captain is an optional membership you buy in the app through the App Store. You never need it to order or to earn as a Smugglbear. In India it costs ₹99 a month or ₹999 a year. It:
- lowers the minimum Smuggl platform fee from ₹300 to ₹150
- lowers the minimum Smugglbear service fee from ₹500 to ₹350
- lowers the minimum order from ₹7,500 to ₹3,500
- removes the ₹1,50,000 limit on open orders
- puts your requests first in the queue
The App Store handles billing, renewal and cancellation. You can cancel any time in your App Store subscription settings.
Outside India
Pricing works the same way in every market. Outside India, fees are shown in your own currency and the app shows the exact amount before you pay. Captain's price follows your App Store region.
